Two-wheeled motorized vehicles frequently park on sidewalks. Although the issue is not formally regulated, many people seem to assume that these vehicles belong on sidewalks, alongside (or even on top of) pedestrian walkways. However, just as it makes no sense for motorized two-wheelers to travel on sidewalks, there is no reason why they should not park on the road and pay for parking like other vehicles.
Currently, two-wheeled vehicles are rarely seen in paid parking spaces because, in the absence of enforcement, any spot becomes a free and seemingly legitimate parking area. Sidewalks are meant for pedestrians, and it should not matter whether the obstruction in their path is a car, a motorcycle, a utility pole, a trash bin, or any other hindrance.
Naturally, parking fees for two-wheeled vehicles should be lower than those for cars. To support this, designated parking spots should be allocated for them within every parking zone intended for cars, reducing walking distances and preventing illegal parking violations.
